Ahsan Raza Khan is an Indian Islamic scholar who belongs to the Barelvi movement and serves as the head of the Bareilly Dargah[1][2], the shrine of his great-grandfather Ahmed Raza Khan and son and successor of Subhan Raza Khan.[3] Raza also served as the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education.[4][5]

Activism

Opposed The Waqf Amendment Act, 2025

Mufti Ahsan Raza opposed The Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 and said that the bill was against the purpose of Waqf and Sharia principles. He also raised concerns about its impact on the religious and financial rights of Muslims.[6]

Opposed Wasim Rizvi’s Proposal on Quranic Verses

In March 2021, Mufti Ahsan Raza criticised Wasim Rizvi over his demand to remove 26 verses from the Quran. He called the demand an attempt to gain publicity and said that any disrespect towards the Quran and the Sahabah would not be accepted.[7][8]
