Mohsen Kazemian (born 1985 in Kerman, Iran) is an Iranian scientist. He serves as a Senior Researcher in wireless networks at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts (THOWL) in Lemgo, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.[1] Additionally, Kazemian is active as an author and translator of music books, a violinist, and a composer, having pursued these musical endeavors for over two decades.[2]

Scientific career

Kazemian is Senior Researcher at the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH-OWL), specializing in wireless industrial telecommunications engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in wireless telecommunications engineering from university of Putra Malaysia and conducted postdoctoral at Yazd University in collaboration with Toronto Metropolitan University.[3] His research primarily focuses on the physical layer (PHY) and MAC layer of 5G and 6G wireless networks. Kazemian serves as an editorial board member for academic journals, such as EnPress Journals[4] and as a program committee member for conferences, including the International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE2026).[5] [6] The current research focuses of Kazemian are:

  • Channel state information prediction,
  • OTFS systems,
  • Resource allocation,
  • Interference mitigation,
  • Integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks (TN/NTN),
  • Efficient integration of LoRaWAN gateways and satellite.[7]

He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in the field of telecommunications engineering.[8] His academic background includes two decades of experience as a university lecturer, alongside a background in the telecommunications industry. Kazemian is actively involved in projects funded by the Horizon Europe programme and the German Research Foundation (DFG).[9] He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). [10]

Musical career

Kazemian is also a violinist, instructor, composer, and author of music books. He obtained a Grade 8 certificate in violin performance from Trinity College London in 2014. His musical training included guidance from Dr. Joanne Yeoh at University of Putra Malaysia, Dr. Chia Chien Goh at Bentley Music Academy in Malaysia, and Daniel Moreira at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany. He is recognized in musical circles for his contributions to violin pedagogy through one authored book and three translated works on violin technique:

  • Superior bowing technique, Lucien Capet[11], (translator)
  • Left hand violin technique, Ruggiero Ricci[12], (translator)
  • Principles of violin: playing & teaching, Ivan Galamian[13], (translator)
  • Chahar Magham (چهارمقام), a work he authored based on the music of Homayoun Khorram.[14]

Kazemian has engaged in musical collaborations, including with poets such as Mohammad Ali Shirazi. These collaborations have led to the release of musical compositions, such as the song 'Eshghe Gomshodeh' (Lost Love) [15]. His current musical activities are:

  • Classical music playing,
  • Iranian classical music composition,
  • Translating violin-related books.
