Cyril Voyant (born 6 October 1977) is a French physicist working as research director at Mines Paris – PSL University and is also affiliated with the University of Corsica[1][2] has been appointed visiting professor at the University of Kragujevac (Faculty of Engineering)[3].

His work covers solar radiation forecasting, renewable energy modelling, scientometrics and applications in medical physics.[4][5][6][7][8] He has published on the integration of artificial intelligence methods into solar radiation and renewable energy forecasting, notably through the review paper “Machine learning methods for solar radiation forecasting: A Review”, which has received more than 1,500 citations.

Over a twenty years career in the field[9], he has taken part in several national and European research programmes, including the ANR SAPHIR,[10] the Horizon 2020 TILOS[11] projects and the Carnot Mines ELECTRE programme[12] on the electrification of energy uses. He has also collaborated with several universities, such as the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kragujevac[13]. He has served as an external expert for research funding organisations, such as the Swiss National Science Foundation.

In 2010 and 2012, he received the EU PVSEC Award[14] and the Prix de l'Accademia Corsa.[15] Ten years later, he was included in Stanford University list of the top 2% most cited scientists in energy and engineering.[16] One of his papers on radiotherapy dose modelling appeared in Nature "Top 100 in Cancer" list for 2024.[17]
